After playing in two tournaments to start the year. The Lumberjack Volleyball team is preparing for their home opener one week from tonight when they host Assiniboine College. Match time is set for 7:00p.m. next Friday.
Despite their 0-8 record the Jacks played some competitive volleyball in the first two weeks of the season. At their opening weekend tournament three of the Jacks four matches went five sets. Here is what Coach Rivera had to say about the season so far, " we are seeing great strides from the team so far. We let some games get away from us, but we believe that we are just one step away from reaching another level from within ourseleves."
Statistically speaking sophomore Amariah Logue leads the team with 93 kills through 8 matches. Logue is also responsible for 102 of the Jacks 266 points this season. Fellow sophomore Lola Hendricks leads the team with 50 digs. Freshman Heyly Montana leads the team with 152 assists so far this season. Freshman Talia Vargas has totaled 13 blocks to lead the Jacks.
We look forward to seeing everyone at "The Woodshed" next Friday and all season long.
