Fourth Quarter Drought Cost Jacks

The Lumberjack Women's Basketball team dropped a close game to Dawson Community College Thursday night 68-60.

The 1st quarter was a defensive battle with the Jacks holding the Lady Bucs to just 12.5% shooting from the field. On the other hand, DCC forced DCB to commit 9 turnovers in the opening 10 minutes. The Jacks held a 12-7 lead after the first 10 minutes thanks to 5 points from Bailey Clott. The Jacks offense got rolling in the second quarter shooting 55% from the field. DCB continued to get it done on the defensive end of the floor forcing the Lady Bucs to go 0-13 from behind the arc. At the half the Jacks led 31-19.

The third quarter saw Dawson get their offense rolling knocking down 6 3-pointers. This coupled with 8 Lumberjack turnovers gave Dawson their first lead since the first quarter. At the end of the third quarter Dawson led 49-47. The Jacks offense struggled in the fourth quarter by making only two field goals in the final 10 minutes. DCB was able to stay in contention thanks to trips to the free throw line. However, it would not be enough and they would fall short, dropping the contest 68-60.
