Late Lumberjack Rally Falls Short

 A late rally would fall short as the Lumberjack Men's Basketball team fell to Williston State College 82-74.

The first half saw the Tetons gradually pull away from the Jacks eventually taking a 44-30 halftime lead. The Teton lead would grow to 23 early in the second half but the Jacks would eventually cut that to 15 before pushing the lead back to 22 with seven minutes remaining. This is when the Jacks would begin to rally. The Jacks turned defense to offense and cut into the Teton lead. A 3-pointer by Moustapha Diomande would cut the deficit to seven at 78-71 with 1:29 to play. On the ensuing Teton possession, the Jacks got a stop but would turn it over on their next offensive possession and the comeback would fall short, with the Tetons winning 82-74.

MarQuez Tyree led four Lumberjacks in double figures with 19 points off the bench, he also pulled down 12 rebounds for a double-double. Brandon Selig finished with 17 points also coming off the bench. Diomande was the lone Lumberjack starter in double figures with 15 points. Elijah Reynolds rounded out DCB's double digit scoring with 13 points. Josiah McDonald who entered the game as the leading scorer in the NJCAA led the Tetons and all scorers with 24 points.

The Jacks fall to 16-9 overall and 3-4 inside the Mon-Dak. DCB hosts Lake Region State College Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
