DCB Women's Hockey earned a weekend split with Lake Region State College. The Jacks picked up a convincing 8-1 victory and fell 4-3 in game two.
8-1 Win
The Jacks jumped out to an early lead as Cydny Price scored just 99 seconds into the game off an assist from Calleja Misson. Just three minutes later Misson connected on a powerplay opportunity, Price returned the favor picking up the assist. Late in the period Ffion Devonald scored with Danee Crepeele and Carli Durston earing the assists. Durston netted her own goal just past the midway point of the second period with Macy Wither getting the assist. The Royals would also score their only goal of the contest in the second period. The Jacks blew the game wide open in the third period with four goals. Wither scored an unassisted goal to go along with her assist earlier, then Mission netted her second goal of contest with Crepeele picking up the assist. Durston kept the scoring going for the Jacks and Wither added another assist. Maya Mortensen closed out the scoring for DCB with Devonald and Wither each picking up another assist. Riley Richardson got the win in net with 29 saves
4-3 Loss
In game two on the weekend the Royals jumped out to a two-goal lead in the first period. Misson got on the Jacks on the board with an unassisted goal six minutes into the second period. Wither would tie the game a few minutes later, Crepeele and Randell Banga assisted on the goal. The game would only remain tied for one minute as the Royals regained the lead. LRSC stretched the lead back out with an early goal in the third period. The Jacks attempted a late rally with a powerplay goal from Wither with a minute and a half to go in the game, Misson and Crepeele were credited with the assists. The Jacks couldn't score in the final minute and fell 4-3.
The Jacks move to 2-1-1-0 on the season. Next up for the Jacks they travel to Jamestown Friday afternoon to take on the Jimmies puck drop is set for 3:00p.m. Saturday the Jacks host the Jimmies game time is set for 4;00p.m.
