The Ladyjacks had a tough weekend as they dropped two games at the Holiday Inn Express Shootout in Devils Lake. On Saturday they were defeated by the Northland Pioneers in a very competitive, hard fought game. The Ladyjacks fell behind by 10 points in the first quarter but charged back to take a two point lead at one time before halftime. A Pioneer spurt early in the second half built their lead to 14 but the Ladyjacks charged back to cut the deficit to four points but that was a close as they could get. The final score was Northland 77, Ladyjacks 66. The Jacks were led in scoring by Vic Obergfell with 24 and Dior Dioum with 21. Both ladies had double/doubles as they had 13 and 11 rebounds respectively. Dior also had a team high 8 assists.
On Saturday the Ladyjacks ran into a very strong Miles CC team and were defeated by a score of 81-41. The Pioneers pressure defense created problems for the Jacks leading to 35 turnovers. The Ladyjacks were lead in scoring by Kelsey Bowers with 12 points and Ellie Messmer with 10. Ellie also led the team in rebounding with 13 boards. Kennedy Sondrol contributed 3 assists. The next contest for the Ladyjacks with be Tuesday, November 14th when they travel to Jamestown to take on the Jimmies in a 5:00 game.
