After returning from their spring trip in Minnesota, the Ladyjacks were ready to get games played back in North Dakota. The Jacks would have the Minot State JV Beavers on their schedule for a double header to get some work in before starting Mon-Dak Conference Play.
In the first game, Tascha Livingstone got the start and kept the game close with her pitching. As the game rolled on, the Beavers were able to get hot and eventually pulled out the win in the 5th inning with a score 10-2. This was the first time the Jacks have been in the great outdoors, so the elements took their toll on the ladies.
In the second game, the Jacks wanted to get the split to keep their record above .500, so getting on top early was a priority. In the first inning, the Beavers took a 2-0 lead that would give them the slightest edge. In the second, the Jacks were not able to score, but a good defensive effort kept MSU from scoring either. In the next two innings, the Beavers tacked on four more points before the Jacks were able to add any of their own in the fifth. The Jacks' two points were a good way to get back in the game, but MSU added four more which would give them the advantage and the win.
The Jacks will be off this weekend and will resume play as they travel to Williston to start their Mon-Dak conference play on April 1.
